    Getting Here

    The nearest major airport is the Chicago O'Hare International Airport which is located about 23 miles from the base. Shuttles and taxi service is available at the airport.

    If arriving by car, take Interstate 94 to Hwy 41 (Waukegan exit). Do not take the bypass to Interstate 294. Take Hwy 41 north to Route 137. Make a right turn on Route 137 and go approximately two miles. The main gate to Naval Station Great Lakes will be visible ahead.

    If military personnel need temporary lodging, the Navy Lodge and the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites are available. Both are open 24 hours a day. Reservations for the Navy Lodge can be made by calling 1-800-NAVY-INN or call the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites at 1-877-NAVY-BED.
